I joined this project on the second phase of the composter attachment. Phase 01 had determined this would be an exterior attachment to the existing trash can lineup. Phase_02 would explore its functionality and features.

The design direction for the composter can had been determined. Enhanced composter phase explored features that would help improve the composting user experience with helpful features that ranged from reducing odors to accessing and disposing of the compost material.

Small compost cans inside the house fill up quickly and need an outdoor solution. Below are a few of the designs we explored for the backyard composter to accompany the compost can.

The team at LDA along with Simplehuman evolved these initial concepts and developed the final details of the product and is now in production and on store shelves.
